Synopsis

Mubvakure opens with a charming romance between Tatenda and Monica in the scenic Domboshava Caves. But the idyllic moment turns bloody when Monica’s husband Thomas discovers their affair and fatally stabs Tatenda. Just as he fades into death, Tatenda awakens—not in the afterlife, but as a newborn in another time, adopted by Shingirai and his wife Maidei. This rebirth unfolds in a deeply spiritual and ancestral world where the mystical Dzimusango forest borders the powerful kingdom of Mara. Shingirai, once a proud hunter, becomes entangled in tragedy after unknowingly violating the king’s daughter, Chiedza, under the influence of supernatural forces. His act ignites ancestral wrath and royal justice. The village priestess Maga intervenes in a tense trial, revealing that Shingirai’s crime was influenced by dark energies from Dzimusango. Despite her insight, the royal court decrees exile for Shingirai and his family. Branded by spiritual contamination, they are cast out, crossing into the haunted woods that serve as both a place of punishment and redemption
